Remember to separate your recyclables: glass, paper, plastic… and vehicles? That’s right, the all new 2011 Ford Explorer is 85% recyclable. Bio foam and recycled fabric in the interior and recycled steel in the exterior help Ford reduce energy consumption, waste, and CO2 emissions. The 2011 Explorer boasts a 30% increase in fuel efficiency in addition to its sustainable eco-improvements.
Ford brings new meaning to the term “cutting edge” with the 2011 Edge. Among many other class exclusive technology, design, and safety advances, the 2011 model will debut MyFord Touch, a class exclusive voice activated in-car connectivity system.
The 2011 Ford Explorer is more than simply redesigned. It will feature many brand new systems, including the new Curve Control technology.
The 2011 Ford Explorer leads the way for Ford’s eco-friendly lineup, boasting a 25% fuel economy as well as new soy foam seat cushions. Ford continues to use more renewable and recyclable materials in vehicles to make them more eco-friendly.
The 2010 Juneteenth celebration was held in downtown Bartow June 18-20, complete with music, food, a classic car show, a talent show, and a bounce house and water slide for the kids. Steve Hendrix and Aundrae McGee of Bartow Ford were on hand with silly bands and mardi gras beads.
Ford is the only car manufacturer in the world with TUV-certified, allergy-friendly interiors. Eight Ford models have been certified as allergy-friendly since 2004 by German independent test house, TUV Rheinland. More than 100 materials and components were tested for harmful substances and allergens.
Steve Hendrix of Bartow Ford, and Drew Akers of Enterprise Holdings Foundation, worked together to raise $1500 for a local Charity of Bartow Ford’s choice. The recipient was The George W. Harris Runaway and Youth Crisis Shelter, located in Bartow.
These facilities can accommodate as many as 24 youths at a time. The shelter sees over 500 youths come through its doors annually. The shelter provides temporary housing and care for many local youths that need an emergency shelter placement due to abuse, and or neglect. It also provides for youth in foster care who have experienced a disruption in their foster placement.
Steve Hendrix and Bob Ambrose of Bartow Ford presented the check to Glenn Parkinson, Shelter Director, and Jim Sims, Development Director for Youth and family Alternatives, Inc.
