Bartow Ford is a proud sponsor of the Bartow Relay for Life. The annual event has been held in Bartow since 2002. This year’s event was held Friday, April 9, 2010 at Bartow High School with the theme “Cultivate a Cure”. Carlos Sandoval, one of our new vehicle managers, escorted Honorary Chair June Kloster around the first lap in a Bartow Ford Mustang convertible. The Relay for Life honors cancer survivors and raises money to support research to find a cure. All donations benefit the American Cancer Society.
The Bartow Relay for Life also included the Sticky Fingers BBQ Cook-Off, initiated by John Hutto, as well as several contests and theme laps. Participants enjoyed the “Simon Says”, “Evolution of Dance”, “Pajama/Bedhead”, and “Superhero” laps, as well as karaoke, a water balloon toss, musical chairs, line dancing, and trivia contests. Local schools supported the cause with choruses and bands from Spessard Holland Elementary, Bartow Elementary Academy, Highland City Elementary, and Bartow Middle School.
