Bartow Ford has been a supporter of youth in Polk County for many years, and is a proud sponsor of the Bartow High School Angler Team. The Angler Team will be in place for the 2011-2012 school year, and includes 25 boys and girls. One of only nine current teams in Florida, the Angler Team will compete in monthly competitions across the state.
Michael Boswell and David Matos competed at the first ever Florida High School Fishing Championship earlier this year on behalf of the Bartow High School Yellow Jackets. Sporting Bartow Ford’s name, and many other local sponsors’ names, the boys finished in third place against eight other teams.
The Bass Federation, the nation’s oldest and largest fishing organization, is leading the way with the development of the Student Angler Federation (SAF). The SAF is an educational program designed to introduce students to fishing and show students the ever- increasing career and educational opportunities through fishing.
