Women voluntarily spends first four days of honeymoon living in a truck.
Newlywed wins Bartow Ford’s ‘Supercab Country Scramble’

Michelle JonesBartow, FL – November 18 –When Michelle Jones Sullivan married on Friday, November 11, she would have not known she would be spending the first four days of her honeymoon living in a truck-without her new husband.

But Sullivan did do just that, by choice, when she was drawn as one of the four finalist for the 2011 Bartow Ford Supercab Country Scramble, hosted by WPCV/97 Country.

The contest spanned November 12th through November 16th and during that time the four contestants lived in a F-150 Supercab, 24 hours a day, with being allowed only bottled water inside the truck. A 15 minute break, every two hours, provided just enough time for food and bathroom breaks.

On November 16th, at noon, all four finalist had remained in the F-150, and when asked what their final thoughts were, the finalist shouted, “Thank God it’s Wednesday!” After 96 gruesome hours sitting upright, a drawing was conducted and Michelle was the confirmed winner of the truck.

Michelle, being married only one day before stepping into the truck to begin the contest, said from day one she was “in it to win it.” Many hugs were shared between the newlyweds after the announcement. A very emotional Michelle’s only response to how she felt was “Shocked!”

Scramble ContestantsAfter the initial shock, the ecstatic Sullivan gathered around the other three contestants and said “There’s still one thing we need to do.” The four of them got back into the truck and began moving the seats, turning on the radio, honking the horn, and rolling the windows up and down as this was forbidden during the contest.

The other three contestants, Bobbie Jo Walter, Roy Moro and Susie Harris were given $2,500 for participating and remaining in the contest.

97.5 WPVC is owned by Hall Communications, also known as “Central Florida’s Big 4”, representing the four stations, WONN, WPCV, WLKF, and WWRZ. The founder of Hall Communications, Robert M. Hall, purchased his first station in 1964. Hall Communications has since expanded into 17 stations.
